We are off to a great start in room 20! We have spent the last two days getting to know each other with games and icebreaker activities. We are also learning the class routines and rules.
Today in Language Arts we read "We Don't Eat our Classmates." Then, students created their own rules about what we DON'T do in Room 20. Then students learned a rhyming alphabet cup game. In Math, students played place value games where their goal was to make the biggest number. Phys. ed this week has been all about learning routines, and sportsmanship through teamwork and tag games. We also started a new unit in Science today. Our big question we will be focusing on is: Where does our waste go? Students looked around for different types of waste and determined how we would properly deal with that waste using the garbage, compost, and recycling bins we have in our school. This Friday we will have our first "walk and talk" morning. Please make sure you are dressed for the weather! :) Mrs. Rowein and Mr. Abma.
