Three Pillars of Care
Our school uses the Three Pillars of Care to help students and staff communicate our shared expectations. These pillars are referred to daily, both within our classes and we proudly recognize students who are outstanding role models. Care for Self · Be on time for school. · Be organized and return notices promptly. · Be accountable for your actions. · Be clean and tidy in your dress and with your belongings. · Be prepared for learning by listening and following directions. · Be responsible and use appropriate language in school, on the playground and on field trips. Care for Others · Be kind and courteous to classmates, staff and visitors to our school. · Be aware and tell an adult when you see someone who is hurt either in their body or in their feelings. · Be responsible for making sure that others feel safe and welcome at our school. Care for Place · Be respectful of public property, community and personal property. · Be thoughtful about your litter and place it in the garbage cans by the school doors. · Be responsible for keeping your work, eating areas and playground tidy. · Be careful to remove wet and dirty footwear to help keep our school clean and dry. · Be environmentally aware by reducing daily waste and bringing lunches and snacks in recyclable containers.

We learned about some natural cleaners in science class today and were hoping that our parents could possibly show our students the natural cleaners they might use. We have been having lots of fun reading stories in front of the class and are learning what it means to be a good public speaker. We also finished up our maps of Alberta and are quite proud of how they all turned out.
We sent a form home with all the kids the other day but here is the following information for those it might not have received it. Noon Supervision Registration This information is for parents of all students who stay at school for lunch. You can register your child and pay online at My CBE PowerSchool Parent Account. If you registered online, you do not need to complete the Noon Supervision Registration Form that was sent home this week (attached). Noon Supervision Fees § The 4-day lunch program at Rosscarrock School is $27.50/month/child. § This fee covers supervision of students during the lunch hour. § It does not include food. § If paying by cheque, attach to the Noon Supervision Registration Form. § Cash is not accepted. Use of the noon supervision service indicates that the Parent/Guardian accepts the terms and the responsibility to pay the annual fee of $275/child. Unpaid fees shall be referred to collections by the Calgary Board of Education. We are so proud to announce that Rosscarrock School raised $275.00 for the Terry Fox Foundation this year! Our grade 3/4 class far succeeded their goal of $23.00, and got to soak Mr. Abma and I after the run.
We are so proud of the leadership demonstrated by our class helpers who led the assembly, read in front of an audience, and directed the run route. Kids battled the rain and cold just like Terry, and persevered through their run! :) Mrs. Rowein |
