While classes are cancelled, it is important to stay healthy, active, and engaged in a learning routine. Below, I have outlined a recommended daily schedule for students while they are at home.
8:00 Wake up at a regular time and have a nutritious breakfast including some kind of fruit. 9:00 Morning walk- go with your family. Do cosmic yoga if it is too cold. www.youtube.com/user/CosmicKidsYoga 9:30 Language Arts- check the blog for updated youtube videos of read alouds or links to great articles! Write your own response. www.youtube.com/watch?v=K40j5lHWltY 10:30 Creative Time- draw, craft, paint, build, cook or bake 11:30 Lunch- choose fruits, vegetables, and healthy protein. Start your own Eat the Rainbow chart at home! 12:30 Chore time- wipe down high contact areas in your home. Help parents with packing dishwasher, dusting, vacuuming or sweeping. 1:30 Math time- check the blog for Math activities or assigned work pages 2:30 Quiet time- read, journal, draw or puzzle 3:00 Science or Social Studies time- check out the links we have posted on the blog. Here is your chance to learn about what interests you! 3:45 Afternoon Fresh Air- go for a walk, bike, or play in the backyard. Limit technology for school use only until after typical school hours. Keep a regular bedtime (8:00-8:30 is recommended) and most of all, take care of yourself :)
