Today in Math, we applied recently learned skills of regrouping base tens to adding 2 and 3 digit numbers. Most students are able to show their learning with a picture and by "stacking' numbers.
In Language Arts, we read the book "Pumpkin Hill". It had the most fantastic words! We wrote down many examples of juicy words while we read. Later in the day during writing time, we used this book as inspiration in planning our own piece of Halloween writing. As a class, our goal continues to focus on adding details and descriptive language in order to improve the content of writing. Today in Science we watched the story/video called "Diary of a Fly." Then, as a class, we filled in a graphic organizer with information we learned about the fly's life. Turns out there was a lot of important information in this story! We continue to have conversations in class about respecting others, especially when others ask us to stop doing something that is bothering them. Everyone learns better when they feel happy and calm, and we need to ensure our actions are serving to help, not hurt others. Reminders: Spelling test tomorrow Library tomorrow :) Mrs. Rowein
