This week in Language Arts, we are working on descriptive stories about winter. We were inspired by the book "Goodbye Geese" which uses personification to describe winter as a person. Once students are finished typing, they will have a chance to illustrate their work!
In Social Studies, our big question is "How do Albertans live off the land?" Last week our focus was farming, and this week we will be learning about forestry. This week, students will be doing art with Mrs. Fraser instead of their usual music class. This is due to some uncertainties with our new budget. We will give more information about the future of our music program as we have it. In Health, we have been focusing on the pillars of care which are: Care for Self, Care for Others, Care for Place. Next week we will have a new topic! In Science, students are continuing their unit on Hearing and Sound. On November 28, we will be taking a field trip connected to our Science topic to the Bell Music Centre. We are looking for volunteers. If you can you volunteer please email Mr. Abma. Keep an eye out for field trip forms! Students are continuing their unit on addition and subtraction with regrouping math. It is pretty hard! Parents can support their children at home by giving them addition and subtraction questions that require regrouping. Today at lunch was the first Playground Ambassador meeting. We were so proud of how many kids want to be involved in helping others! A reminder that we no longer have a set library schedule. Students may exchange their books any day of the week as needed. :) Mrs. Rowein
