Students continue to work on subtraction with regrouping in Math. We have used pictures, the traditional algorithm, and just today, the jump strategy to learn about regrouping.
Our class is running this year's Remembrance Day assembly! We've been busy working on a wreath and display for the assembly. Our class will also be leading all the songs that are part of the assembly. Our partner reading has changed from a "reader response: style to a book talk. A book talk is similar to a movie review, and students must share it with their classmates when they finish a book. In Science, students are busy working on the rough draft of their Diary of an Animal. Their target is to add explanation and information to the ideas they have already come up with in their planner. Spelling words went home Monday. We are going to continue to have spelling tests every full week throughout the year. Please support your child with spelling by practicing with them at home. Exposing children to high quality literature also helps them build vocabulary and phonemic awareness. :)Mrs. Rowein
