Another week is well on its way in room 20!
In Math, students are continuing to explore and practice division. Grade 4's have been learning strategies to divide larger numbers, and also experimenting with remainders. In Language Arts, students are wrapping up their Literature Circles. On Friday, everyone will be sharing their final projects in a gallery walk, where they will have the opportunity to tell their peers about their book. We have also been reading and writing lots of poetry over the last two weeks. Students have shown a major interest in listening to poetry, and we have lots of new favorite poems! It is also clear that we have some very talented young poets in the class! In Social Studies, students have continued research for their protect "A Brief History of Alberta," which showcases important events in Alberta's past 100 years. Next week they will begin creating their timelines to share their understanding. Jump Rope for Heart will be a focus in our school beginning next week. We've been skipping lots in Phys. Ed, and already I've seen plenty of growth from any kids! Skipping is an easy and inexpensive way to get active. I encourage everyone to try skipping at home. Maybe students will be able to teach their parents a thing or two! Thanks to all the grade 3 and 4 runners who came to running club today. Friday Reminders: yoga, spelling test, and library. :) Mrs. Rowein
