Today was our trip the the Calgary Humane Society! It started off as an informational presentation on the work the CHS does. They also taught us about empathy, and made the connection between irresponsible treatment of animals and people. Then we had a tour of the whole shelter, and saw many animals! Lastly, we got to meet a very friendly dog named Lucy. Lucy was well trained and calm, and knew lots of tricks!
When we got back from our field trip, students had a late lunch. In Language Arts, most students finished working on their informative paragraph. In Math, we continued some work around measuring in millimeters, and converting centimeters to millimeters. Reminders: Library and Yoga tomorrow! Student-led conferences are next Thursday and Friday! Please sign up for a conference time. Students will be showcasing activities we do in class, and sharing some of their completed work. :) Mrs. Rowein
